Children aged 12–18

Students aged 12 to 18 who are new to the Netherlands and do not yet have sufficient Dutch language skills are usually placed in an International Transition Class (Internationale Schakelklas – ISK). The ISK provides full-time education and focuses on developing Dutch language skills while preparing students for further education within the Dutch school system.

In Amstelveen, there are two ISK schools:

  • Futuris – for students aged 12 to 16. Students who have been following an education in the Netherlands for more than two years are not eligible for enrolment.
  • Nova College – for students aged 16 and older.

The CIL can provide information about the admission process and help families find the most appropriate educational placement.
