Students aged 12 to 18 who are new to the Netherlands and do not yet have sufficient Dutch language skills are usually placed in an International Transition Class (Internationale Schakelklas – ISK). The ISK provides full-time education and focuses on developing Dutch language skills while preparing students for further education within the Dutch school system.
